It's time to announce the latest Minimonos Monkey of the Week! Can you guess who it is? XD

Congratulations to...............MAD!

Mad is an awesome monkey to know on MiniMonos! He's always really helpful if there are new monkeys around, and he contributes to many of our different MiniMonos activities! He is one of our moggers for the Go Bananas blog, too! Check out his Monkey Fact Monday post!

Mad has also done some pretty cool artwork, like this picture and more recently he & his cousin, Klein, sent in this picture for Fan Art Friday:

Hey monkeys, it's Rainforest here!

Recently, MiniMonos has had a whole slew of updates for the holidays -- some were released a few days ago, and more were released today! They're so exciting! Wait till you see them! xD

Here are the updates released a few days ago!

First, Castle Beach received a wintery make-over! A snow machine has appeared in the top left corner of the beach!

Next, we have my favourite update, theFestive Friends Tree. To get your tree, at Castle Beach, talk to Santa Igor, and ask him for a free tree. You will get one, which will show up in your treehouse.

To get awesome decorations on it, ask your friends to say, "Happy Holidays!" outside your treehouse and an ornament will show up on the tree!

Next, at Traderz, there is a new Holidays catalog, filled with cool items -- some are even animated! Look at my monkey's new festive look! :D What do you think? XD

And, I mean, thats like, only two of the holiday themed items you can get! There hats and sweaters and new treehouse decorations, too!

And, you can now send HOLIDAY CARDS to your friends and family! You can decorate it yourself and then when you're done, send it off to whoever you want! Here's a sample card:

Now, here are the updates released today!

They're all pretty awesome! The first thing you'll see is that we have a new loading screen, which is another scratching kind! My favorite! :D

Next, there are now new X-Powers! You can get snow, holly, or candy canes!

And lastly, there is a NEW GAME! We all love our new games, right?

*Monkeys all nod in agreement* I thought so!

The new game can be found at ColorMe, and its a music game! Each of the paint cans plays a different note when you click on them.

First, click on the poster and it will play you a few notes! You have to then repeat the notes that it plays. It does this until the whole song is played, and then you move to the next round. Play for as long as you can, as its super awesome!

Wow!! That is a TON of EPIC updates!!!! And I haven't even named them all! I hear there are a few more hidden around the Island! :D What's your favourite update? Please leave a comment and let me know! :D

MiniMonos: Winter Updates

Here are some cool winter updates on minimonos! first i want to tell you that the server avenger was offline for awhile and another server is offline aswell!
Here are the updates, it is snowing in castle beach you see there is a dressed up monkey(Igor) who is giving away free trees for your treehouse!

Traderz is having a holiday special! and it is decorated here are some of the cool clothes and items.

This is the front cover of the catalog.

There is also a "Design your own holiday cards" creator which is on your chatbar when you go to your treehouse.

Hello Monkeys!Monkey of the Week is ...CpDarkRai!

He is very nice to all monkeys on MiniMonos, and he likes to play with other monkeys also. He also helps NEW monkeys on MiniMonos to get them to learn a little bit more about MiniMonos. He tells jokes and makes other monkeys "LOL" or "Haha" even "ROFL". Cpdarkrai is always somewhere in the score board games! He also likes to wear black so look for a black monkey named cpdarkrai and that well be him! Cpdarkrai definitely deserves this weeks Monkey of the Week! Next time you see him tell him congrats on being Monkey Of The Week!

Fly T-Shirts !

Hey Monkeys...

If you have been wanting another chance at getting a snazzy new fly shirt from TicTacPoo, you've got an opportunity every week starting this week! I've just been told by Igor that if you earn the rank of Poohlala in TicTacPoo (1600-2000pts) you will receive a fly shirt! The next batch of fly shirts will be given out next Monday (New Zealand time)! How awesome is that?

Also, there has been some confusion as to how the ranking system that we use for TicTacPoo works. Igor was kind enough to explain it for me.

You will get more points if you win against someone with a higher rank than you, and fewer points if you win against someone with a lower rank. If you constantly play against monkeys who have a much lower rank than you, you might find that you're not getting any points at all from beating them.

You can tell what kind of rank a monkey has by how many flies they have buzzing around them in the Compost Zone. The higher your rank goes, the more flies you'll have following you!

If you leave a match, your opponent will automatically win, so be sure to play the entire match if you can!

Hey Monkeys ..The monkey of this week is... Minijhrocks!

Minijhrocks always loves to talk and help new monkeys around the island, he even gives them tours as much as he can ^.^ He is very friendly to all monkeys.
He also makes sure to keep as much poo as he can off the MiniMonos Island and helps recycle items :-) If you visit his tree house his recycling bin is almost always empty and keeps his cloud powered electricity running.
So if you see Minijhrocks around make sure you congratulate him for MOTW and everything he's done for MiniMonos!
He also loves to post on his blog about MiniMonos every time there is an update! So well done, Minijhrocks! You totally and most definitely deserved MOTW!

Minomonos wishes you a Happy 4th of July!
Hi, monkeys! We've got some exciting news to share with you - new updates!! Badgerfox and the development team have worked really hard on some amazing new things for us to enjoy!

Many of our monkeys live in America and this Sunday is a very big holiday for them - Independence Day!! If you log into MiniMonos you'll see new decorations along the coastline of the island! There are tons of red, white and blue seashells and seaweed decorating the shore.

If you keep walking along Long Beach to Hana Cove, you'll find a special surprise!! The campfire is lit and the stars are out, and a big crate of fireworks is waiting to be lit!

There's something special monkeys can do here to celebrate! Walk over to the crate to make your fireworks appear in the sand.

Then, walk down to the campfire to light your fireworks! You'll see the little wick on the fireworks start to sparkle once you've got it lit.
After you've lit your fireworks, you have to sit down to make them go off! Yep, that's right! Monkeys can now sit down!!! To make your monkey sit down, press the down arrow key on your keyboard! And boom! The fireworks will go off! See how many monkeys you can get to set off fireworks at once for some really awesome celebrations!

That's not the only new update, though! There's MORE!! If you click on your map, there's a new place to visit!! There's a new location button above the field button that looks like...poo? Yep! That's how you get to the Compost Center! There's a new monkey for you to meet there named Igor. Pay attention to what he says!

There's also some new things on the billboard in Times Square relating to this! And like last time, there may be a bit of pie somewhere in these updates. Guess you'll have to find it, hehe!

Hey Monkeys! Are you ready for Monkey Fact Monday? Every Monday we will be posting a cool and interesting facts about monkeys! This week, Calypso will be telling you some really amazing facts!

There are so many cool things about monkeys that a lot of people don't know yet. I am here to let you guys know the coolest facts about them, and to show you some pretty sweet pictures too. Are you excited!? I know I am! ^.^

This week I wanted to tell you guys about tw monkeys who are very special. The first one was named 'Nim Chimpsky'. He was a very special monkey. The reason he was so special is because he was the first monkey ever to learn sign language!

Teaching Nim to use sign language must have been extremely hard! They called this Project Nim. After Nim had learned all the sign language possible, scientists has no reason to still keep him. Owners of Nim reportedly were going to sell him to a research lab. After Nim retired to the Black Beauty Ranch, an Animal Retirement Facility, at the age of 26 Nim the Chimp died of a heart attack.

While making Project Nim happen, Beatrix Gardner started Project Washoe, which involved the second monkey I wanted to tell you about. Project Washoe was about a different chimpanzee who was raised like a human child. Washoe lived with a human family every hour of every day from birth! How cool would it be to have a baby monkey, instead of a baby brother or sister? Hehe!!

Did you know that 98.7% of a chimpanzee's DNA is exactly the same as a human's? Wow!! Some scientists thought that if a chimp was raised as a human child using only sign language to communicate it would 'shed light' on the way humans and monkeys interact.

There are some amazing monkeys to learn about out there, like Washoe and Nim! Nim might have died at a young age, but he made history! How cool would it be to talk to a monkey using sign language! What would you say or ask Nim The Chimp, if you had the chance? I would ask him what is favorite food was, I would be very surprised if it wasn't bananas! Haha!

Hi everyone i am back from my school tour it was amaing here are some updates i have missed

We're thrilled to announce that we have a new ambassador on MiniMonos. And it is someone you know well: Viper!

As you know, Viper has always done an incredible job on MiniMonos, for both staff and other monkeys. She is always cheerful, always helping people on MiniMonos and makes everymonkey feel happy when she is with them. Viper also has excellent judgement when it comes to being safe and appropriate on MiniMonos, and a great way of communicating, so that everybody is feeling good.

Viper mentioned to us that she had graduated from high school and was looking for a real job. Her wisdom, generosity and contribution to the safety and fun on MiniMonos led us to make her an offer to be a MiniMonos ambassador. This means that Viper will now be on the MiniMonos staff.

So if you see Viper with a sparkly crown, you now know why!

MiniMonos Huge Updates

Hey everyone MiniMonos has huge updates here is a post from the MM Blog

We can get clothes on MiniMonos now, monkeys!!

However, you need to be a MiniMonos gold member to be able to buy the clothes, which means buying a membership. Remember though guys, you are supplying clean water to unfortunate kids in India when you buy a membership!

Anywho, first thing you would notice when you log onto MiniMonos, is that Castle Beach looks TOTALLY different! Here is a picture I took with Cade77 and some other monkeys:

Now let's check out the major update released on MiniMonos that all of us monkeys have been waiting for! :P Babbage has it at Traderz -- his very first clothes catalog!

You may have noticed that some of the clothes in the catalog have no color. That means you are able to change the colors yourself! So you get your clothes from Babbage at Traderz and color them at Carlos' ColorMe store!

You can get your clothes from your treehouse by clicking on your closet. Or just click on your monkey then the button that says 'Closet' on your monkey player card:

Then you'll see your monkey and the clothes you have bought:

Then just click on the sign that says 'Color Me'. If you want your pants and shirt to be different colors, you need to wear one at a time. Otherwise your whole outfit will change color! It costs 20 banana chips to change color:

You can now wear the armbands you earned in Monkeyfist too! The armbands are located on the last page of your closet:

Lol! This is also something many of us been asking the MiniMonos staff for! :P

I really LOVE this new update!! ^.^ This is the very first clothes catalog and it is very wicked, full of awesomeness, hehehe! :P

I'm going to have fun being picky with what to wear -- and the color! xD Just one thing I wish, is that we can wear our armbands WITH the other clothes, instead of armbands only. Other than that, I love everything, and MiniMonos! :D

Ok to get to the clothes shop go to Babbages shop and click the catalog to buy your clothes if you want to change your colour you must go over to the Colour Me Store there is also free chat for monkeys now YAY!.

There is also a new door on the colour me store if you want to change your clothes click your monkey then click the button that says "Closet" on your playercard

After a couple days of working and searching, Viper, Calypso, Foxie3000,Yugiohgx12, Smallfry and I (MiniPenguitt), have FINALLY completed the puzzle and found a secret message hidden within it!

First of all, here is what all of the pictures put together look like!:

Aint that cool? Well, what we noticed was that each picture that was emailed, had a different name. Viper got everyone together and we told her what they were. After swapping them around a bit, here is what it turned out to say:

“Time. for. tea. at. Badgerfox’s. treehouse”

Hmm. I wonder what this could mean. I heard Badgerfox talking about having a garage sale. I just can’t think of anything. Oh wait. Is the picture in my theory, Badgerfox’s house?

Today Andrea, an ambassador from MiniMonos, emailed me a piece of a big puzzle! 5 other MiniMonos bloggers just like me got a different piece! Well some of us got together and put our pieces together. First lets check out the piece I received:

So MiniMonos monkeys, last update we had a new addition to Monkey Fist with safe chat speech while battling in the game! ^^ However, there was something else we did not notice that was also updated. 3 of the places on MiniMonos names were updated and changed on MiniMonos' Map!

Those places were the Lagoon, Cliff [Monkey Flight], and Campfire. Here is a picture below with the new names on the map:

If any monkeys still can't see this clearly, these are the new names:

Lagoon = Leatherback Lagoon
Campfire area = Hana Cove
Cliff = Kittyhawk Bluff

Now that we have 3 new names for the places, I wonder what other official names the staff will come up with for the field, town and river!? :D

Last week at MiniMonos, we also announced that we have raised another NZD$800,000 (about USD$571,000). We hadpreviously raised a similar amount in February. The original investment group, which included Venture Accelerator Nelson and New Zealand’s Seed Co-Investment Fund, increased the amount it had previously committed to this tranche and has been joined by Movac, a key investor in TradeMe.

Phil McCaw, a founding investor in TradeMe and an initial investor in MiniMonos, says he’s impressed with the progress of the green-themed world targeting U.S. Boys. "We see lots of companies with great tech but minimal customer traction, so what I like with MiniMonos is the uptake and effort invested by the kids themselves," McCaw said in statement. "The fact that they create blogs, art, competitions, and videos tells me that MiniMonos has a solid foundation of grassroots support that will serve it well as it scales."

Here are just 3 examples of initiatives from MiniMonos kids which delighted us this week:

1. Two of our early kid-testers of MiniMonos discovered ‘claymatronics’ and created the following short clip at school about an 'echo-friendly dinosaur' (warning: this is quite noisy!):

2. Members, BetaMonkey and MonkeyRock, created their own MiniMonos vlog to encourage MiniMonos players to upload MiniMonos-themed and environmental videos.

3. Ivax won PERcY’s Pick Up Trash logo competition last week. MiniMonos player, PeRCY, asked the rest of the community to create a symbol for the real-world initiative he blogs about each Friday. The competition produced some stunning art from the kids.

As we endeavor to listen to and deliver what our MiniMonos kids want in a virtual world and highlight their awesome contributions, we believe we can make a real-world difference to the environment, now and in our kids' future. We're having a complete blast with our MiniMonos community creating a game to change the world.

Monkey Fist is Released!!

Hey Monkeys, I'm Limey!

The new Monkey Fist game is out! The game entrance is in Long Beach, on the far left side:

As you can see, there's a new character -- his name is Wu Lee and he's the Monkey Fist Sensei:

Basically, what you do is you pick one of the symbols at the bottom of the game so that when the time runs out, you will be in a particular position (like a snake position). If the position is the same as Wu Lee's, you're out and you have to sit on the stone for the rest of the game. When you're the last one standing, you win!

As you keep winning, you work your way to earning different armbands and flags for your treehouse:

Hi guys i just discovered a a recently new game snowzville not snowville but snowZville which is a virtual world of snowmen in a lovely winter land.

Good Review:
Lovely graphics with ltos of nice people and an awesome loading
screen the characters look perfect and the falling snow is amazing
everything looks perfect it's only just released in Beta and there are a few rooms.

Bad Review:
Not much fun though there aren't any games and the rooms
don't have anything in them.

Solution:
get a few items and clothes in rooms.

MFP (MultiplayerFunPlace) is a new virtual created my smoothct who works for thepagebunnies.com a networking blog service in MFP the sprites(characters of game) are little stick men which aren't that good.

Good Review:
A safe virtual world with good moderators and great filters
many rooms and lots of awesome graphics like the volcanoe
and moderator powers that make rainbows,they also have good membership that's cheap.

Bad Review:
The stick characters are not good and the game rooms are done with
paint and you can see some of the mistakes like the map and news
some of the moderators don't have fun and they follow the rules too much.

Solution:Get a proper graphic designer,remove some mods
and change the stick characters to characters like this guy

Good Review:

This week, one very important day is around the corner -- Earth Day! Earth Day is THIS Thursday and many monkeys, including the staff, have been super excited about this day!

On Earth Day, people help the Earth by planting, picking up trash, recycling, saving water, etc. There are tons of ways to pitch in!

Well, The MiniMonos Team and I decided that in honor of this important day, we should have a party! I know you monkeys can’t resist such a party so here is the Invite I made!

Hi! Monkeys! Kaila and I have just been live on Twitcam and on MiniMonos talking to a bunch of monkeys!

Hi there monkeys!

Well, since MiniMonos switched to beta the Top Banana card has changed a bit! Take a look at it :)

So, as you can see you need to Invite 5 friends, collect 100 clouds in the cloud catching game, recycle 150 items (this is my favorite game after the lagoon game) and finally help new fish appear at the lagoon!

Now, you will get a check here in about 2 to 3 days -- just keep playing the lagoon game!
